The California Golden Bears baseball program is one win away from advancing to the College World Series after clobbering Dallas Baptist, 7-0, in Game 1 of the NCAA Super Regional.

The scoring started in the 2nd inning when Chad Bunting belted a three-run HR to left field, more than enough run support for Cal's starting pitcher, Justin Jones.

The sophomore lefty was magnificent, allowing just one hit and one walk in six innings of work. However, he left the game while warming up before the top of the 7th, citing left bicep discomfort.

Logan Scott relieved Jones and continued the domination over the Patriots' lineup, giving up just two hits in three innings.

The teams will meet again tomorrow at 7:00pm PDT. Should the Patriots win, a do-or-die Game 3 on Monday will determine who advances to the College World Series in Omaha.

Notes: The California baseball program was one of five varsity sports at UC Berkeley that was eliminated in September 2010. However, after a fundraising effort raised nearly 10 million, the program was officially re-instated in April.
