SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 14, 2016) – CSN California (@CSNAuthentic), the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” today announced its comprehensive coverage of the Oakland Athletics for the 2016 Major League Baseball season, which will include 149 games (147 regular season, 2 spring training), pre- and post-game shows, in-depth nightly news coverage and complete 24/7 online A’s coverage on CSNCalifornia.com. 

CSN California’s regular season coverage begins with the A’s season and home opener against the Chicago White Sox on Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m.

A’s coverage on CSN California against playoff contenders include: seven games against 2015 World Series Champion Kansas City Royals (April 15, 16, 17; September 12, 13, 14, 15), 17 matchups versus 2015 A.L. West Division Champion Texas Rangers (May 16, 17; June 13, 14, 15; July 25, 26, 27; August 15, 16, 17; September 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25), six contests against the 2015 A.L. East Champion Toronto Blue Jays (April 22, 23, 24; July 15, 16, 17) and 16 games against the 2015 A.L. Wildcard Champion Houston Astros (April 29, 30; May 1; June 3, 4, 5; July 7, 8, 9, 10, 18, 19; August 29, 30; September 19, 20).

National networks will air the remaining scheduled A’s games, making all 162 games televised in the Bay Area.

For the 11th season, the Emmy Award winning duo of Glen Kuiper (play-by-play) and Ray Fosse (color analyst) will call the majority of the A’s games on CSN California.  As previously announced, former A’s pitcher Mark Mulder has joined the broadcast team as a color analyst and will be featured in 20 telecasts.  

A’s interleague play includes four games against the cross-bay rival San Francisco Giants (June, 27, 28, 29, 30) and match-ups against five N.L. Central teams – Chicago Cubs (August 5, 6, 7), Cincinnati Reds (June 10, 11, 12), Milwaukee Brewers (June 7, 8, 21) and Pittsburgh Pirates (July 1, 2, 3).

In addition to the 147 regular season games, CSN California will air two spring training games against the Giants – Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. from Hohokam Stadium and Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. from O.co Coliseum.

Prior to the games, A’s Pregame Live will provide a preview of the upcoming contest, exclusive pregame interviews, feature stories on A’s players and the latest team news. Immediately following the game, A’s Postgame Live will provide in-depth game analysis, game highlights, clubhouse interviews with coaches and players, player reactions and a preview of the next matchup.  The shows are anchored by veteran sportscaster Brodie Brazil (@brodiebrazilCSN), with analysis from former A’s infielders Shooty Babitt and Bip Roberts (@Bipster10) and CSNCalifornia.com’s A’s Insider Joe Stiglich (@joestiglich).
