Giants fan Bryan Stow was alert and responsive Friday, the family announced on their website.

Stow "had both eyes open, his right hand was either trying to give a thumbs up or hold up two fingers. ... He also closed his eyes and opened them on command. ... When asked what his last name, he mouthed, 'Stow'."

The positive developments come a day after news broke that two new suspects were arrested and previous suspect Giovanni Ramirez was exonerated.
