Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez singled up the middle in the first inning in Milwaukee to collect the 1,000th hit of his MLB career.

Sanchez, who came to the Giants via trade with the Pirates in 2009, has collected 211 hits in his San Francisco career. The rest of the 1,000 hits came with Pittsburgh and Boston.

The three-time All-Star and 2006 National League batting champion leads the team in hits with 56 and is looking for the second 200-hit season of his career.
