Giants closer Brian Wilson, in jeopardy of starting the season on the disabled list with an oblique strain, threw 25 pitches Tuesday and pronounced himself pain-free.

Wilson threw off a mound at the team's Scottsdale, Ariz. facility at full velocity and did not encounter any setbacks, according to a team spokesman. The session was approximately 10 minutes.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy -- speaking to reporters before Tuesday's game with the A's at the Coliseum -- said Wilson "felt great, very encouraged by his progress."
Bochy said the Giants would decide Wednesday about Wilson's next move
"Hopefully he'll be ready once his time is up," Bochy said.

Wilson went through a light throwing session on flat ground Monday. He sustained the injury in a March 17 outing.
Wilson led the majors with 48 saves last season for the World Series champions.
