Golden State Warriors TV ratings soar on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area

Warriors Household Ratings Up 58% Compared to 2011-12 Viewership

Increased Ratings Registered in Key Advertising Demographics, Warriors Pregame Live and Warriors Postgame Live

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 18, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (@CSNAuthentic), the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” has seen a significant rise in ratings for its Golden State Warriors telecasts during the 2012-13 NBA season. Comcast SportsNet Bay Area averaged a 2.85 household rating, which is equal to an estimated 71,373 households in the San Francisco DMA (San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) watching per game, a 58 percent increase over the 1.80 average household rating posted at the end of the 2011-12 season.

Ratings in key advertising demographics also registered increased numbers: Adults 18-49 (up 45%), Adults 25-54 (up 42%), Men 18-49 (up 45%) and Men 25-54 (up 38%).  Source for all ratings information is provided by Nielsen Media Research.

In addition, Warriors Pregame Live (up 39%) and Warriors Postgame Live (up 35%) have posted rating gains in households compared to the 2011-12 season.

On Monday, March 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area delivered the highest rated Warriors game since the 2007-2008 season – a 5.25 average household rating with approximately 131,287 households viewing the entire game.
