SAN FRANCISCO (APCSN) Chris Mullin, Al Attles and Tara VanDerveer are among 12 finalists for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Mullin was drafted No. 7 overall by the Warriors in 1985 and after a lackluster start to his NBA career, scored over 25 points per game from 1988 through 1993, the only Warrior other than Wilt Chamberlain to accomplish that feat. He went on to become the Warriors' Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations from 2004-2009.
Attles, the current Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Golden State Warriors, coached the team when it won its only NBA championship in 1975.
VanDerveer is one of the most successful coaches in women's college basketball history. She has already been inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. She is only the fifth women's basketball head coach to win over 800 games and has led Stanford to two NCAA Championships and 18 Pac-10 titles.
The finalists were announced Friday in Los Angeles, where the NBA All-Star game will be played this weekend. The other finalists are former NBA stars Dennis Rodman, Jamaal Wilkes, Maurice Cheeks and Ralph Sampson, five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards, former NBA coaches Tex Winter and Dick Motta, Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee and college referee Hank Nichols.Rodman was the flamboyant rebounder who won five NBA titles with Chicago and Detroit; Wilkes won four NBA titles with Golden State and the Lakers after starring at UCLA; and Winter was the architect of the triangle and triple-post offense. Those elected to the Hall of Fame will be introduced April 3 at the men's Final Four in Houston.
