ALAMEDA Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said he wont make any decision on DarrenMcFadden or Mike Goodsons availability for OaklandsWeek 10 game in Baltimoreuntil after Fridays practice at the earliest. Both McFadden and Goodson sat out Thursdays practice in Alameda with highankle sprains and Allen confirmed that the top two running backs on his depthchart are still in walking boots, forcing him to pass down the reps. Two guys have taken those snaps; Taiwan Jones and Marcel Reecehave both taken reps there with the first group, Allen said.Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said the Raiders have a running back contingencyin place.Well play to the strength of the backs were going to use, Knapp said. HopefullyDarren and Goody can make it back, but if not we have a second plan ready togo. With Reece more of a threat in the passing game, Jones would likely be the bellcow in Baltimoreif McFadden and Goodson are on the sidelines. Knapp explained what has heldJones back from more touches so far and what makes him such an enticing backupplan. Its been ball security and the assignments, Knapp said of Jones limitations. And part of his assignment issues have been because of lack of reps because ofthe injuries, so you miss out on opportunities due to lack of reps. But Imexcited for the young kid. I hope he gets a chance to get in there and havesome confidence and get some successful plays to build his confidence. In addition to McFadden and Jones sitting out Thursday, veteran defensivetackle Richard Seymour was also notably absent. He had previously been dealingwith a knee injury, but is now also dealing with a hamstring problem that Allendid not sugar coat.He couldnt practice today if he had to, Allen said, which seems tosuggest that Seymouris an unlikely candidate to play against the Ravens. Officially, though, Allenwouldnt rule Seymourout yet. When Seymour was asked if he would be a game-time decision in Baltimore, he said he didnt know. When itsready, Ill be back, Seymoursaid. Weve got a good training staff. Im working hard.Cornerback Shawntae Spencer was the fourth non-participant on Thursday.
