Raiders WR Cooper hits record books, joins Moss, Boldin

The Raiders drafted Amari Cooper out of Alabama with the No. 4 overall pick in 2015 with the hopes that they'd have an aerial threat to build around.

They got that, and more.

Now in rhythm with quarterback Derek Carr, the rookie has been a big part of Oakland's turnaround this season.

Cooper on Sunday of Week 7 against the Chargers built on the incredible start to his NFL career, making four catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

The final play, a 52-yard score, put him the record books alongside two Hall of Fame type wide receivers in Randy Moss and Anquan Boldin.

Not only is Cooper the third NFL rookie to hit 500 receiving yards through the first six games, but he's also the first Raiders rookie with 400 receiving yards through the first six games. He is the second to ever achieve that milestone, putting him next to Randy Moss again, who accomplished that in 2005

The Alabama product is also the first rookie wide receiver since 1960 with at least four catches in each of his frist six games.

Cooper had three 100-yard games in his first six career contests, with two coming in the first three weeks.

He's faced and challenged cornerbacks such as Dre Kirkpatrick, Adam Jones, Ladarius Webb, Joe Haden, Kyle Fuller, Aqib Talib, Chris Harris and Jason Verrett.
