Sharks activate G Niittymaki, reassign Hutton

SAN JOSE San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General ManagerDoug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned goaltenderCarter Hutton to the Worcester Sharks, the teams top development affiliate in the American Hockey League. Hutton dressed as Antti Niemis back-up for 12 games this season but has not appeared in a game. In 12 games this season with Worcester, he has posted a 2.97 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage with one shutout.

He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 1, 2010. The Sharks also announced that they have activated goaltenderAntero Niittymaki from the injured reserve list. Niittymaki has missed the past 11 games with a lower body injury.
