The Sharks have re-signed goalie Thomas Greiss to a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The 25-year-old, German netminder, spent last season playing in Sweden, posting a 2.92 goals-against average.

In 19 career games with the Sharks, Greiss is 7-5-2 with a 2.77 goals-against average.

Two seasons ago, Greiss was viewed by the franchise as Evgeni Nabokov's replacement, but last season after acquiring Antero Niittymaki and Antti Niemi, the Sharks had no place for Greiss on the roster and he was loaned to the Swedish Elite League, where he could get consistent playing time.
