Sharks GM Doug Wilson announced the signing of Freddie Hamilton to an entry-level contract.

Wilson spent last season with the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey league. In the OHL playoffs, Hamilton finished with 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in 14 games. He was originally selected by the Sharks in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Hamilton finished second on the IceDogs in goals (38), assists (45) and points (83), with seven game-winning goals.
