The University of San Francisco announced the signing of Chris Adams on Thursday.

Adams, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Covina, CA, was the 2010 CIF Southern Section Player of the Year and propelled Damien High School to back-to-back berths in the CIF Southern Section Semifinals. As a senior, Adams led Damien to a 22-9 record, averaging 18.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. After knocking down 111 three-pointers during his senior season, Adams leaves Damien as the schools all-time leader in three-point field goals with 227.

Chris is a great shooter who has worked extremely hard to become a well-rounded scorer, Damien head coach Matt Dunn said. Most importantly, he is a quality young man and a great teammate.

Adams competed for the Inland Empire Basketball Program AAU team. The team advanced to the Elite Eight of the Super 64 Tournament and the Final Four of the adidas Magic Memorial Day Festival.

Chris is someone we have been recruiting for two years and we are very fortunate to get him on the Hilltop," USF head coach Rex Walters said. We had a need for someone that could play a couple different guard spots and Chris will be able to do this. We have just added a very good student and basketball player to our program.
