PROGRAMMING NOTE: Comcast SportsNet California will be carrying the A's spring contest with the Reds Saturday at 12 p.m. Don't miss Yoenis Cespedes' first at bats as an Athletic.

Yoenis Cespedes will make his long-awaited debut with Major League Baseball Saturday, playing center field for the Oakland A's against the Cincinnati Reds.

Manager Bob Melvin confirmed the news after the A's Friday contest with the Rockies. Cespedes will bat second.

"The most important thing in my life is to play in the big leagues," Cespedes told the San Francisco Chronicle, "and now its a dream come true because Im going to start now in spring training."

Cespedes has participated in three simulated games so far, and he has impressed, going 8-for-16 with two home runs. Bob Melvin is yet to publicize how he will set the outfield, but the center field position has already been a point of contention between Cespedes and Crisp.
