A's option Ross to Triple A

OAKLAND, Calif. The Oakland As optioned right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today. Ross was 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA in five starts with the As this spring, not including a start and loss in an exhibition game against Hanshin in Japan March 26, when he allowed eight runs on 10 hits in 4.0 innings.

The As now have 25 active players on the 40-man roster. The breakdown includes 11 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders and six outfielders. The As have 40 players on the 40-man roster plus Brett Anderson and Scott Sizemore, who are on the 60-day disabled list.
