The A's activated reliever Ryan Cook from the disabled list Monday and optioned Evan Scribner to Triple-A Sacramento.

With the move, Oakland's bullpen will have its full cast of top relievers for the first time since spring training began. Cook developed tendinitis in his right shoulder shortly after camp began, and he didn't pitch in a single Cactus League game. He appeared in two rehab games for Single-A Stockton on Thursday and Saturday and declared himself ready.

Cook will bolster the A's late-inning relief corps, joining Luke Gregerson, Dan Otero and lefty Sean Doolittle as setup options for closer Jim Johnson. That group also gives manager Bob Melvin the flexibility to ease Cook into some lower-pressure situations initially if he so chooses.

Scribner won a bullpen spot out of spring training, but with lefties Fernando Abad and Drew Pomeranz showing the ability to get right-handed hitters out, Scribner was expendable.
