The Astros have placed star outfielder George Springer on the 15-day disabled list with a left quad strain.

The stint is retroactive to July 20, when the rookie missed his first game. Tuesday was only his second game missed. Before Tuesday's game, Astros manager Bo Porter had said this injury was not yet necessarily at the disabled list stage, but that prognosis has obviously since changed.
