The field will look a bit funny when the A's and Braves play on Saturday in Atlanta. Both teams will don their 1914 throwback uniforms.

The Philadelphia Athletics compiled baseball's best record at 99-53 in 1914, taking first place in the American League under manager Connie Mack. But they were swept in the World Series 4-0 by the Boston Braves, who finished first in the NL with a 94-59 record.

Starting pitcher Chief Bender led the A's that year with a 17-3 record and a 2.26 ERA in 28 games.
