BOX SCORE

OAKLAND -- Yoenis Cespedes returned to the lineup to face the Rockies Wednesday, but didn't make it out of the first inning before he aggravated his hamstring injury.
Cespedes aggravated the hamstring when he attempted to turn a ground ball up the middle into a single in the top of the first inning. As he ran to first, he extended his left leg stretching to beat the incoming throw from second base. After reaching the bag, he winced in pain and hopped a couple of times as he came to a stop down the first base line. He was out.
Cespedes stayed in the game for the bottom half of the inning, then was replaced by Jonny Gomes in left field, managing to play just one and a half innings.

Cespedes missed the last four games after suffering a strained left hamstring last Thursday against the Rangers when he went first to third on a base hit.The A's have not provided any reports on his status, but we will update this story as soon as more information becomes available.Cespedes, 26, is batting .275 with six home runs and 26 RBI in his first 35 career MLB games.
