OAKLAND – A’s center fielder Coco Crisp left Monday’s game after fouling a ball off his right leg in the bottom of the sixth.

That came after Crisp hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning against Texas, his third straight game with a homer and his seventh in his past 12 games.

Manager Bob Melvin and assistant trainer Walt Horn came out to check on Crisp after he fouled off a pitch from Texas reliever Nick Tepesch.

Crisp was in obvious pain as the home crowd began encouraging him with a chant of “Coco! Coco!” He stayed in the game and struck out swinging on the next pitch, then walked gingerly back to the dugout.

Brandon Moss entered the game in right field and Chris Young slid over to take over center for Crisp. The A’s led 4-2 going to the bottom of the seventh.
