Catcher Derek Norris was scratched from the Oakland A’s lineup Friday because of back spasms, and indications are he might be held out Saturday as well.

That means Stephen Vogt will be behind the plate for left-hander Scott Kazmir’s Cactus League debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. It will mark Kazmir’s first start in an A’s uniform.

Manager Bob Melvin told reporters that Norris has been dealing with the back problem for a couple of days, and that it’s the same issue that bothered him last August.
