Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury left Thursday's game against the Mariners with right hip tightness, but manager Joe Girardi expects Ellsbury to be in the lineup on Friday when the Yankees take on the A's in Oakland.

Ellsbury was replaced by Brett Gardner in center to start the bottom of the seventh inning.

After the game, Ellsbury addressed the injury.

"It was tight. I'll expect to be in there tomorrow, but I think it was the right decision. I got some ice on it, did everything we could, and I plan on being in there tomorrow," Ellsbury said.
