OAKLAND – A’s first baseman Kyle Blanks left Sunday’s game after two innings and was replaced by Brandon Moss.

Blanks has been bothered by tightness in his left calf. He wasn’t moving well down the line as he tried to score from third on Stephen Vogt’s grounder to shortstop in the second inning, and he came up limping after his slide into home.

The A’s confirmed later in the game that Blanks indeed left with a strained left calf.

Moss was in line for his first day off since June 1 but got pressed into unexpected early duty.
