OAKLAND -- Yoenis Cespedes is in the lineup and playing left field for the A’s in Friday’s opener of the American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers.

In a switch from the standard regular season batting order, Josh Donaldson and Jed Lowrie are flip-flopped, with Lowrie batting second and Donaldson in the third spot. That gives the A’s back-to-back switch hitters atop the lineup in Coco Crisp and Lowrie.

Cespedes was a question mark entering this week because of  a sore right shoulder, but he played catch Thursday and manager Bob Melvin was hopeful Cespedes would be ready for left field in Game 1.
