OAKLAND -- Brandon Moss is not in the A's lineup for their Saturday evening game against the Blue Jays, and the man who leads the team in home runs and RBI is not available off the bench after rolling his ankle on Friday.

"It's sore," Moss said. "It’s a little more sore than I thought it was gonna be, just based on how it felt after the game yesterday. It actually didn’t feel too bad. I went home and it stiffened up a little bit, got a little sore overnight.

"It’s nothing serious, anyway, I think it'll feel a lot better tomorrow."

Moss, who was checked by a doctor and received treatment throughout Saturday, did not take batting practice with the team.

The plan is to evaluate Moss before Sunday afternoon's series finale against Toronto, and the first baseman/outfielder was optimistic he'll be able to play.

The 30-year old is batting .272 with 19 home runs and his 62 RBI rank sixth in the majors.

"He's one of the toughest guys we have," manager Bob Melvin said. "He doesn't like a day off, let alone potentially a couple days off."
