BALTIMORE – Manny Machado wasn’t in the clubhouse during the time it was open to the media. The Orioles did not make him available to the media at large, but in an interview with MASN Sports, Machado expressed remorse for his actions on Sunday.
Machado was ejected after Oakland Athletics pitcher Fernando Abad threw two pitches close to him. After the second pitch, Machado threw his bat toward third base and was ejected.

“I definitely want to apologize to all my teammates, my coaching staff, the organization and to Oakland, and the fans also, the way I overreacted,” Machado said.
“It was a frustrating weekend, and I let my emotions get the best of me.”
The Athletics said that Machado did not show any remorse for his backswings that forced catcher Derek Norris to leave the game.
“I want to apologize to Derek. That wasn’t intentional. I didn’t realize how hard I hit him with the bat,” Machado said.
