The A's acquired minor league reliever Eric Berger from the Houston Astros on Saturday for a player to be named later, a source confirmed to CSN California.

Berger, a 27-year-old left-hander, is 27-28 with a 3.80 ERA over six minor league seasons. He went 6-3 with a 3.06 ERA in 44 appearances (3 starts) for Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2013. He has yet to reach the majors.

The A's drafted Berger in the ninth round back in 2007 out of the University of Arizona but he went back to school. He signed with Cleveland the next year after being taken in the eighth round.

Perhaps Berger is headed to the right organization considering his look. His Twitter photo (@EBerger18) shows him sporting a handlebar mustache, a la Rollie Fingers.

The Houston Chronicle was the first outlet to report the trade.
