OAKLAND -- The Oakland A’s reinstated catcher Derek Norris from the 15-day disabled list, the club announced on Thursday.

Norris was placed on the disabled list Aug. 23 retroactive to Aug. 21 with a fractured left big toe. He began a three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday and went 6-for-14 (.429) with two home runs and four RBI in two starts at catcher and one at designated hitter.
Norris, 24, was batting .232 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 84 games with the A’s at the time of the injury but has a .345 average and .446 on-base percentage in 26 games since July 1.
