Report: Rockies deciding between Williams, Weiss

Despite plenty of initial skepticismJason Giambiemerged as a legitimate candidate for the Rockies managerial opening and was interviewed for the job, but Patrick Saunders of theDenver Postreportsthat hes no longer in the running.According to Saunders that means the Rockies have narrowed their choice down to either Walt Weiss or Matt Williams, with Weiss being the presumptive favorite.Colorados owner and various front office decision-makers are getting together later this week at the MLB general manager meetings, so a decision could come shortly. In addition to Weiss, Williams, and Giambi the Rockies also interviewed a fourth candidate in bench coach Tom Runnells.
