OAKLAND -- A’s right-handed pitcher Josh Stinson was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, but first baseman Daric Barton cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento, the team announced in a press release.

Stinson was claimed off waivers from Milwaukee March 29 and was designated for assignment yesterday when the A’s claimed RHP Will Harris off waivers from Colorado. He was 11-9 with a 3.16 ERA in 29 games, 24 starts, with Double-A Huntsville last year. That earned him a September call-up to Milwaukee and he posted a 0.96 ERA in six games, including one start.

Barton batted .206 with two doubles and five RBI in 17 games this spring before he was designated for assignment last Friday. He also had a team leading 11 walks for a .438 on-base percentage. Barton batted .204 in 46 games with Oakland last year and also hit .255 with eight home runs and 35 RBI in 74 games with the River Cats.
