The A's and Rangers traded leads for five innings, but a four-run Texas sixth chased Tommy Milone from the mound and broke the game open.
The lineups are set for Game 3 of the four-game series between the A's and Rangers in Texas, and Oakland will be without Coco Crisp.
Jarrod Parker allowed just two runs on three hits over seven strong innings, and the A's offense provided enough run support in a 6-2 victory.
