The Oakland A's recalled pitcher Andrew Carignan from Triple-A Sacramento, the team announced Sunday. The corresponding roster move was to option pitcher Graham Godfrey to Sacramento.
Carignan has been called up twice already this season and is 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA in seven appearances. The 25-year-old right-hander is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA with the River Cats.
Godfrey is 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA for Oakland this season and struggled with a finger injury in his last start against the Angels on Tuesday. Travis Blackley, who is scheduled to start Monday's game, replaced Godfrey early in the game and threw 3.2 innings.
