Grant Green: Five-tool, five-position player?

SACRAMENTO -- When the A's took Grant Green with the 13th overall pick in the 2009 First-Year Draft, they thought they were drafting the shortstop of their future. While Green's offensive potential has never been called into question, his ability to stick at shortstop has been.Last season the A's organization made a decision to move the 6'3" Southern California native to the outfield. In the 2011 season with Double-A Midland, he learned to play left field and center field. Now the A's are doing something curious with Green, who was ranked as the 94th best prospect in baseball entering 2012 -- they are playing him all over the place.Green has played five positions in his last five games (SS, CF, 2B, LF, 3B). Apparently they are trying to fast-track him to the big leagues by making him more versatile. The inconsistency in the field hasn't ruined his production. He is batting .287 with eight homers and 40 RBIs this season. In this video, Green took the time to explain what exactly is going on with his development, why the A's decided to change his position, and why he might actually want to stay in the Minor Leagues a little longer.
