Sources: Anderson to pitch for A's on Tuesday

OAKLAND -- According to sources close to the team Brett Anderson will make his first start since June 5, 2011 this Tuesday at the Coliseum against the Minnesota Twins. Anderson underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow on July 14, 2011. Anderson threw a bullpen session on Saturday in front of A's manager Bob Melvin and pitching coach Curt Young. After the session, Anderson told our A's Insider that he felt he was close to ready. Anderson, 24, struck out a season-high seven batters in his last rehab start. In six rehab games (five with Sacramento, one with Stockton) he has a 4.26 ERA in 25 13 innings pitched.
