Alberto Callaspo seemingly found his stroke. Now, the newest member of the A's is searching for an ice bag.

Hitless in his first 11 at-bats with the A's, Callaspo had a pair of doubles in his first two at-bats Wednesday at Cincinnati. But he had to leave the game in the fourth inning after a home-plate collision with Cincinnati catcher Corky Miller in which Callaspo appeared to jam his left wrist. The A's confirmed Callaspo left the game with a left forearm contusion.

Eric Sogard replaced him at second base.

Callaspo was acquired by the A's in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels for rookie Grant Green on July 30. Green was 0-for-15 with the A's but had two hits off Texas ace Yu Darvish Tuesday night.
