Giants reliever Sergio Romo is dealing with a subluxedpatella, or an unstable kneecap in laymans terms, and is day-to-day, accordingto manager Bruce Bochy.Speaking prior to Wednesdays contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bochywas asked why Romo wasnt called upon to pitch in the last two games when theGiants had slim leads late. Bochy revealed the subluxed patella and explained thatwhile Romo is technically available to pitch Wednesday, the Giants wouldideally like to rest him for the series finale against Arizona and bring himback on Friday after the teams day off.He did it two games ago stretching down below, doing his normal routine,Bochy said. So he has not been available to us for two games. He did have itchecked out. An MRI confirmed the subluxed patella in the right knee.Bochy said that Clay Hensley has been a reliableright-handed option in the absence of Romo, who last pitched on May 27 inMiami, where he walked one and struck out one in 0.2 innings.Romo is 2-0 and has allowed just one run on a solo home run in 14.2 inningsthis season. He has 20 strikeouts compared to five walks after posting another-worldly 705 KBB ratio last season.
