San Francisco Giants prospects Gary Brown, Heath Hembree and Ricky Oropesa were elected to participate in this year's Rising Stars Game for the East Division.

Brown, 24, played in his third year in the Giants system after he was drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2010 draft. Brown played 134 games with the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels, batting .279 with 73 runs scored and 33 stolen bases.

Hembree, 23, began his 2012 season -- his third in the Giants' system -- with the High-A San Jose Giants and was promoted after just five game to the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. Between the two teams, Hembree turned in a 1-1 season with a 4.19 ERA that was upset by arm injuries. He recorded 15 saves and struck out 43 batters to 21 walks.

Oropesa, 22, spent his first year in professional baseball with the San Jose Giants this year. In 134 games, mostly at first base, Oropesa hit .263 with 16 home runs and 98 RBIs.

Former Giants prospect Tommy Joseph, who was shipped to the Philadelphia Phillies in the trade that brought Hunter Pence to San Francisco, is on the West Division roster.

Oakland A's prospect James Simmons is also representing the Bay Area as Joseph's teammate on the West.

The game takes place Saturday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. in Arizona at the spring training home of the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks --Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
