Huff hurts knee celebrating perfect game, DL a ‘possibility'

SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants first baseman Aubrey Huff is headedfor an MRI on his right knee and could face a stint on the disabled list, accordingto manager Bruce Bochy.Huff tripped over the dugout railing and landed on his knee celebrating MattCains perfect game Wednesday at AT&T Park.When asked if the injury would put Huff on the disabled list, Bochy said it wasa possibility, but too early to tell.Hes pretty sore, Bochy said.
Huff was seen using crutches before Thursday's series finale against the Houston Astros.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time, as Bochy said he was prepared to giveHuff more playing time as the Giants get the benefit of a designated hitter inupcoming interleague series in Seattle, Anaheim and Oakland.Huffs late plate appearance came on June 10 and he last started on June 2. The veteran left-hander, in the final year of a two-year, 22 million contract,is hitting .155 with one home run and five RBIs in 58 at-bats this season.
