The Spurs closed it out from there.Curry tweaks ankle: Stephen Curry tweaked his right ankle again, this time with 2:49 remaining in the third quarter. The Warriors had just gained possession and Curry was about to push the ball up the floor when the ankle twisted. He didnt step on anyones foot and the ankle simply seemed to give way as he went to push off of it.Curry received treatment on the ankle on the bench, then went to the locker room, accompanied by trainer Chad Bergman. He didnt return.Wright struggling: Small forward Dorell Wright is struggling with his shot, but coach Mark Jackson indicated before the game hes going to stick with him.I dont care who you are you go through those moments, Jackson said. Ive played with some of the greatest shooters who have ever played this game and have struggled at times. The main thing is you have to continue to do the other things on the floor. Hopefully, hell find his way out of it.Wright, who entered the game shooting 30.8 percent from the field, said he isnt being guarded any differently this season. In other words, he didnt agree with the notion that teams are taking away his 3-point shot and forcing him to put the ball on the floor.I struggled last year, it just wasnt at the beginning of the year, Wright said. There were games I played bad. It will come. Ive just got to continue to do what I do as far as getting extra shots up and try to help the team on the other end, do the little things. Thats what Im focused on.
Warriors start early : The Warriors played a solid first quarter, taking a 26-20 lead, and it was largely because of Monta Ellis, who jump-started the teams offense. Last season, Ellis had 20 points or more in a half 19 times, which was tied for the most in the league with Dwyane Wade.No Ginobili: The Spurs were playing without Manu Ginobili, who suffered a broken finger in his hand during Mondays game against the Timberwolves.
