SACRAMENTOThe plan for Warriors center Andrew Bogut wasto play in a preseason game or two, and then be ready for opening night againstthe Phoenix Suns on Oct. 31.Well, Bogut wasnt expected to play on Wednesday against theSacramento Kingspreseason game No. 5. That means there are three preseasongames left. And Warriors coach Mark Jackson didnt exactly soundoptimistic or positive when asked about Boguts status pregame. When asked if Stephen Curry, who missed most of last seasonwith ankle issues, and Bogut, who played in only 12 games last season after fracturinghis left foot, would be on a minutes restriction early in the season, this ishow he answered:Not with Steph, Jackson said. With Andrew, were still aways away and well continue to rehab him and get him to the point where we canget him on the floor. But Steph is fine and he wont be on any minutesrestrictions.Later, Jackson was asked whether the plan for Bogut to playa preseason game or two and then be ready for opening night was realistic.I hope its realistic, Jackson said. I think its thebest thing for him and us. The most important plan is to make sure hes healthyso were not going to do anything to set him back. So, well see how it goes.Bogut, who last played in January, has been rehabbing thisoffseason, but he has yet to be cleared to play five-on-five.
