Warriors generalmanager Bob Myers confirmed on Tuesday that he already has met with free-agentguard Brandon Roy, who is attempting a comeback after chronic kneetrouble.Myers and Roy met inthe Bay Area on Sunday, according to a Yahoo! Inother words, Myers will be meeting up a second-time with Roy, which you wouldfigure has to mean the Warriors are at least in the ballgame for his services.Myers also said onMonday that the team is not likely to use all of its mid-level exception worth about 5 millionbecause the team was up against the luxurytax.That would havefigured to reduce the chances of the Warriors signing Roy, but perhaps not.Myers, who had been a long-time agent, represented Roy before joining theWarriors front office in Spring 2011.If Roy, 27, ishealthy, or even approaches the level he played at as a three-time NBA All-Starfor the Blazers, it would be quite an addition for Golden State. Roy, 6-foot-6and capable of playing both guard positions, would seemingly be a perfect fitalongside Stephen Curry, who is coming off injury, himself, and Klay Thompson,entering just his second year.
