The Golden State Warriors return home for one game after a four-game roadtrip, and then its right back onto the road again. Losers of seven of their past eight games, they'll takeon the Denver Nuggets, currently holding down the eighth and final playoff spotin the Western Conference. After Saturdays game, the Warriors then travel to Denverfor a game against the Nuggets on Monday and to Portland for a game against theBlazers on Wednesday. Here are some things to watch for during SaturdaysNuggets-Warriors game at Oracle Arena: Jenkins & Robinson at point: Rookie Charles Jenkins has been showing steady improvement over the past several weeks.Meanwhile, Nate Robinson continues to slump.Still, both point guards have been splitting time, andRobinson had a particularly troubling outing against the Jazz on Friday.Robinson went just 2-for-10 from the field and committed three turnovers in 23minutes.RECAP: Jazz slip past Warriors in Utah
Over the past 12 games, Robinson is shooting just 35.5percent from the field and for the season has now dropped down to 39.8percent.Lets see if Warriors coach Mark Jackson begins to funnelmore minutes Jenkins way.Execute down stretch: The Warriors took atwo-point lead into the fourth quarter against the Jazz but lost the lead andthe game. On Tuesday, Golden State was up 12 points with 10 minutes to playagainst the Grizzlies but lost that game.It seems apparent that the Warriors are struggling to scorelate in gamesduring big possessions. Instead of running their offense atthose points, the Warriors have gone a little too much one-on-one and the shotstheyve gotten have not been terribly good ones.If the Warriors hope to win a few of their remaining 12games, theyre going to need to find a way to score when the game is on theline.Account for Harrington: Former WarriorsAl Harrington is the Nuggets leading scorerand he comes off the bench.Harrington is a player who can get hot in a hurry, particularly from beyond the3-point arc.If Harrington is on the floor, the Warriors need to be awareof him because Harrington is very aggressive. At the other end, it makes senseto occupy Harrington because hes not the best defender in the league.Contain Lawson: Point guard Ty Lawson ishaving a very good year for the Nuggets and makes them go. When Lawson playswell, Denver is tough to beat. When Lawson can be controlled, it makes the job of defeatingthe Nuggets a little easier.
