OAKLANDTurns out, that seven to 10 days of rest forAndrew Bogut and his left ankle was a little optimistic.Warriors coach Mark Jackson announced on Tuesday that Bogutwould not play in the teams upcoming three-game road trip, which begins Fridayin Minnesota.
No, he wont make the trip, Jackson said after putting theteam through a 90-minute practice. Were going to stick true to the rehab andtry to get him as strong as possible and when hes ready to play, hell play.But he wont be on the trip.The Warriors announced on Nov. 8, that they would give Bogutseven to 10 days of rest in order to strengthen his left ankle. Bogut fracturedthe ankle while playing for Milwaukee back in January.The Warriors had hoped Bogut would be 100 percent by thestart of the 2012-13 regular season.After the Warriors (3-4) play the Timberwolves on Friday,they travel to Oklahoma City for a game on Nov. 18 and to Dallas for a game on Nov. 19.
That means the next possible game Bogut could play in wouldbe a game against the Brooklyn Nets at Oracle Arena on Nov. 21. That would betwo weeks from the teams initial seven-to-10 day announcement.Thats where we are, Jackson said. Hes going to continueto rehab and when hes ready to go, hes ready to go. I dont even think itmakes sense to put a number on it. At the end of the day, when hes ready, hesready. Were not going to force a timetable. Were going to use wisdom onit.Conventional wisdom is that Bogut has to be healthy for mostof the season for the Warriors to have a successful season and make theplayoffs. He has missed four of the teams first seven games.Assuming Bogut misses Wednesdays home game against Atlantaand the ensuing trip, hell have played in four of the teams first 11games.
