SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Buster Posey had an active day in minor league camp.
Batting third in every inning, he went to the plate five times and was 1 for 3 with a double and two walks. Although he went into second base standing up on the double, he had occasion to slide into second base after one of the walks. It was his first time sliding on dirt since tearing up his left ankle May 25.
"It went fine," he said. "The baserunning was good."
Now Posey will get an extended rest before gearing up for an increased workload in the final two weeks of spring. He won't play Sunday and the team has a scheduled day off on Monday.
