ATLANTA -- Pick your caffeinated beverage of choice. No rest for the weary today.

After Wednesday night's game ended at almost 1 a.m. EDT, the Giants are back at Turner Field for a 12:10 p.m. game. And Buster Posey is catching the day game after the night game.

Hey, the Giants haven't had many shots at a three-game sweep in Fulton County. The last one came in June, 1988. So you can't blame Bruce Bochy for getting a bit greedy.

With Posey catching today, the chances increase that Eli Whiteside will work with Tim Lincecum on Friday in Philadelphia. Then again, the forecast is ug-lee for that series opener at Citizens Bank Park. For now, Posey is good to go and the Giants will try to win behind Madison Bumgarner, who was sent to the team hotel early last night.

Melky Cabrera probably should strap on an extra piece of hard plastic or two. Tim Hudson might be liable to "miss" with one of those wild down-and-in sinkers of his.

No Chipper Jones or Brian McCann in the Braves' starting nine:

Crawford SS
Cabrera LF
Posey C
Sandoval 3B
Pagan CF

Burriss 2B
Bumgarner P

Bourn CF
