Manny Ramirez played five games for the Rays last year, going 1-for-17.

Last April, Manny Ramirez tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and opted for retirement rather than fulfilling a second anti-doping violation penalty. But the perennial slugger isn't quite finished with baseball. He was reinstated by MLB last month and, per agreement with the league, will serve a 50-game suspension instead of the standard 100-game penalty for a second violation.

The next step? Finding a team with which to serve that suspension.

"Baltimore, Toronto and Oakland have shown interest in giving an opportunity for Manny to return," a source told ESPNDeportes.com. "And he is close to making a decision."

Ramirez, 39, is the author of 555 career home runs and a .312 batting average over 19 season.

While no offers have been made, a report indicates that "Oakland would guarantee more opportunities" than the Orioles or Blue Jays.

Ramirez has been working out in Miami since December preparing for the phone call. We will see in the coming weeks who it comes from.

Do you think it is a good idea to bring Manny to Oakland?
