OAKLAND -- It's cut day for the Oakland Athletics. Their roster will be trimmed down to the final 25 men shortly after the conclusion of Saturday's final exhibition game.
Oakland has 32 active players in camp -- 33 if you count Bartolo Colon, who has five games left to serve on his suspension. Colon will take the mound against the Giants after starting pitcher Dan Straily. The A's are still determining whether or not to start Colon on the sixth day of the season.
"If we were to just fit him in on the sixth day, and just give everyone some rest, that's certainly an option," A's manager Bob Melvin said.
Nakajima still likely headed to the DL:
There's no new news on Hiro Nakajima's status for Opening Day. He remains likely to start the season on the disabled list.

"He is feeling better each and every day," Melvin said. "It's difficult to go from the state he's been in and all of a sudden be able to play."
The A's were happy to be back at their home stadium. Outfielder Josh Reddick seemed to be the one that was most excited. His enthusiasm was on display as he stepped from the dugout to the field for the first time.
Chris Young, who takes Jonny Gomes' old spot next to Reddick in the clubhouse, got his first impressions of the Oakland Coliseum. "It's not bad," he said. "It's just baseball."
Melvin was happy to see some of the new players, like Young, get some work in on the home field. He was more interested in seeing the familiar faces of the fans that gave the A's a standing ovation after being eliminated in Game 5 of the American League Division Series.
"Especially those last six days of the season everything came together as one," Melvin said. "The fans, us, that was a special relationship and we really felt them."
"It's been unlike any other feeling I've had from a group of fans," Melvin added.
A's tickets are sold out for Opening Day, and the skipper is looking forward to the noise and energy the fans will bring.
"Our fans only know one way," Melvin said. "They're a very passionate fan base, when they come out in full force it's unlike any other."
