Free agent outfielder Cody Ross has signed with the Red Sox, according to a report.
A source told Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports that the former Giant is heading to Boston.
Ross was a mid-season acquisition for the Giants in 2010 and became a fan favorite with a historic postseason performance.

In the 2010 postseason, Ross hit .294 with five home runs and 10 RBI over 15 games. In six games against the Phillies in the NLCS, Ross hit three home runs, including two off of Roy Halladay in Game 1, and earned the NLCS MVP award.
Ross also broke up three consecutive playoff no-hit bids with home runs in 2010. In Game 4 of the NLDS against the Braves, Ross went deep off Derek Lowe in the sixth inning for the Giants' first hit. His first home run off Halladay in the 3rd inning was the Giants' first hit off of the Phillies' ace and Ross followed that up by breaking up Roy Oswalt's no-hit bid in Game 2 with a fifth inning solo shot.
However, Ross struggled in 2011, hitting .240 with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs in 121 games.
Ross will likely be part of a platoon with the Red Sox, the sixth team he's played for over his eight-year career.
