Report: Nationals interested in DeRosa

Mark DeRosa, who played in just 73 games in two years with the San Francisco Giants, is drawing some interest from the Washington Nationals, according to a report at MLB.com.

DeRosa, 36, dealt with wrist issues throughout his Giants tenure and hit just .235 with one home run and 22 RBIs after signing for 12 million over two years following the 2009 season.

Bill Ladson of MLB.com writes that the Nationals are in search of a first baseman after Chris Marrero, projected to be Washington's backup at first, tore his left hamstring playing in the Domincan Winter League.

Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com also reported Monday that the Nationals have 'serious interest' in free agent first baseman Prince Fielder.
