SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. For the first time in 288 days, BusterPosey will do some hitting, catching and running in a baseball game.

But first, hell do some tossing and turning.

Oh, Im sure it wont be easy (to fall asleep), saidPosey, who confirmed he would start against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday andplay two innings. Im anxious. Itll be nice to just play. Get the first onedone. But Im definitely excited.

The first pitcher hell face? Its left-hander AroldisChapman, whose fastball has been clocked at 104 mph. His average fastballvelocity was 98.1 mphalmost three ticks faster than anyone else in the bigleagues.

Thanks, Bruce Bochy?

Itll be a good one to face right out of the chute, Poseysaid, smiling. You know, I mean, weve gotta face em all one way or theother. Might as well get it done.

Posey will catch Matt Cain, who is expected to throw threeor four innings. Cain told reporters that he was joking with Posey aboutcatching him, only to be surprised by the answer.

Posey ran the bases one more time Thursday and said he's past the point where he wonders if he's going to be OK.

Hes gotten over the hump," Bochy said. "Sometimes theres one day where you finally trust that youre well and you dont have to hold back."

Bochy said he planned for Posey to take Saturday off and return Sunday, when he'll catch four innings.

Posey will work with Eric Surkamp, who is scheduled to pitch against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Tim Lincecum will pitch on Monday as the starters move to a four-days-of-rest schedule.
